Junior Concert Band
SYB is excited to announce our re-introduced Junior Youth Concert Band -- The Cadets -- under the direction of Band Director John Brashier, and Assistant Director Tavyn Eifertsen.
Band member requirements:
- At least one year playing an instrument
- Be enrolled in sixth, seventh or eighth grade

About the Director John Brashier
John is a Music teacher in the Elk Grove Unified School District. He began his tenure with the district in 2003. He is a graduate of California State Univ., Fullerton and also attended the University of Southern California.
About Assistant Director Tavyn Eifertsen
Mr. Eifertsen is a local musician and educator who grew up in the Sacramento area. He has worked for private lesson studios in Rocklin and Windsor.
Eifertsen earned his bachelor's degree in music education from Sonoma State University and his associate's degree from American River College. He is currently working on his teaching credential at Sacramento State University.
He studied Trombone with David Ridge at Sonoma State University, who is the principal Bass Trombone player in the San Francisco Opera House.
Eifertsen is also a member of the Roseville Community Concert Band under the direction of Stephanie Sugano.
Eifertsen looks forward to working with students in the newly revamped Cadet Band!
